From Capacity Crunch to Creative Solution:

Malvern Primary School's growing student body meant traditional classrooms were feeling the squeeze. Outdoor learning offered a promising solution, not just for accommodating more students but also for fostering a deeper connection with nature and encouraging active learning. That's where Timber Building Specialists came in.

Building an Engaging Outdoor Oasis:

We custom-designed a 7m x 4.25m log cabin, crafted from robust 70mm logs and insulated for year-round comfort. Pre-painted doors and windows in sleek anthracite added a touch of modern elegance, while the EPDM rubber roofing and floor and roof insulation ensured maximum weather protection. The classroom cabin was expertly placed on ground screws and a sturdy timber frame foundation, thanks to our trusted partners GS4U.

School Holidays: Time for a Transformation:

To minimise disruption to learning, we meticulously planned the construction to coincide with the school holidays. This meticulous timing ensured optimal efficiency, allowing us to complete the project in just three days! Safety remained paramount, with our team adhering to all necessary health and safety regulations throughout the process.

Clear Preserver to Classroom Brilliance:

The final touches transformed the cabin into a truly inviting space. Inside and out, we applied a clear preserver, showcasing the natural beauty of the wood while offering long-lasting protection. Decking trim and carefully constructed steps added finishing flourishes, creating a welcoming entrance and enhancing the overall visual appeal.

Student Joy, Teacher Delight:

The finished log cabin school classroom was met with enthusiastic applause, not just from the students but also from the teachers. Its spaciousness provided much-needed room for movement and active learning, while the natural light and fresh air invigorated the learning environment.
